Sunlight transformed into a minimalist composition
A solar cell driven composition packaged in a standard CD-jewel case. This release is focusing on the research for a way to actually hear the sun, the exploration of the borders between instrument and phonogram, and the role as a musician or a listener. For the transformation of sunlight into sound Mats Björk have constructed a solar cell powered and controlled tone generator. This is packaged in a standard CD-jewel case to give it the feel and the attributes of a phonogram. Release date 2009 12 21
Connected to a pair of headphones, one can choose to listen to one of the two parts this composition basically consists of. With the lid open, the circuit (that also makes out the musical score) with its oscillators, is carefully tuned for broad daylight to capture the intense piercing and powerful energy, here manifested in the mantra of a clear but uncertain six tone chord. Slowly shifting in pitch as the sun wanders the sky and occasionally hides behind a small cloud, this part of the composition lets you sink in to the relations between the tones themselves and between light and tone.
Walk Like Zombie Man
Very Friendly # 2 is just around the corner!
If you would like to secure a copy this critically acclaimed project by Ronnie Sundin at a very friendly price you can send an email to office@komplott.com with the words "Walk Like Zombie Man" written in the subject line and you will receive a pre-release special offer!
VF#2 will feature two main stories; one with Sundin's
recollections of a trip to Spain in 2006 and his meeting with , amongst
others, the Spanish super (hero?) composer of silence: Francisco López
(who also can be heard - or not - on the included vinyl 7") ; and
another which is an attempt to decipher the enigmatic and somewhat
incomprehensible German cult film Decoder from 1983 which
features legendary underground heroes such as Genesis P. Orridge, FM
Einheit and William S. Burroughs in leading roles and cameos.
VF#2 is scheduled for a December release and is very likely to be the Christmas present of the year! Read more about Sundin's Very Friendly project here

Two additional very limited titles is also scheduled for
the end of 2009. At the darkest possible time of the year Komplott
chooses to release two sun related titles!
First up is the insanely limited "Sound of the Sun" by Mats Björk which is the culmination of a month's worth of intensive labour and will be available in 24(!) copies.
Secondly we have the very delayed "Sunspots" LP by Ronnie Sundin
which will be available in a bit more consumer friendly edition of 50
copies with hand printed covers. More detailed info on both of these
editions will come soon.

Christina Kubisch (Germany)
Rafael Toral (Portugal)
David Stackenäs & Martin Küchen
Opening 16.00 Performances start from 17.00
Supported by Malmö Stad
The site specific
sound installation is created by Christina Kubisch from the sound of
tuning forks, the piece is entitled Diapason II. Considered a pioneer, Kubisch
has been working internationally since 1980 and her work displays an
artistic development which is often described as the "synthesis of
arts" - the discovery of acoustic space and the dimension of time in
the visual arts on the one hand, and a redefinition of relationships
between material and form on the other. The work in Scaniaparken deals
with the interaction between the architecture, the natural atmosphere
and the sound work itself. Interview
The music performance is a Space Study by Rafael Toral (Portugal).
Toral has since the late eighties developed a front position within
guitar drone music that he recently left in order to develop a new
musical language emanating from his own development of new instruments.
This music is quiet the opposite in its formal language but still
mapping space and time, and here he will perform using the spatial
conditions of the site. He has collaborated with Jim O'Rourke, John
Zorn, Alvin Lucier, Evan Parker, David Toop, Sonic Youth and many
others, having played across Europe and the US, Canada and Japan. The
concerts is added with a performance by David Stackenäs
(guitar/electronics) and Martin Küchen (reeds) culminating in a unique
improvisation by the duo with Rafael Toral.
Sunspots is an album
that was created during the same deep dive into the archives that produced
the recent “Seven Year Silence” CD (issued by Fang Bomb) but has
a very different personality. This is a much more subdued affair revisiting
the same material that was recorded for the mp3 album Solsting and some
of the last recordings made at the legendary The Cabin studio as well
as other locations during the years 2000-2004 - making this the
final document of Sundin’s more quiet half of this decade. What separates
this album from his earlier ones from this era is that it is of a somewhat
more improvised and fragile nature although the sounds are still
carefully composed.
After several format changes,
this album will finally be released in an exclusive 12” vinyl edition
limited to 50 copies only. All the covers will be hand made by Sundin
himself making each cover into an individual art work. Each cover will
be drawn by hand and there is a possiblilty to get a personal
dedication incorporated into the cover art, just state your name when
placing your order.
Orders are limited to 1 copy
per customer and this album will only be avaiable through the Komplott
webstore.

Andreas Bertilsson's work with his next album, Själens Ö, has been
carried out during the spring and continues
until mid-summer when it's supposed to proceed with the album
mastering. Bertilsson has involved over 14 musicians for the album and
he will arrange, play and

Joel Wästberg, Samuel Hällkvist, Sofia Dahlgren, Mattias Rodrick,
John Essing, Johanna Ericsson, Åsa Ahlander, Oscar Hallberg among
others. The album

previous Komplott albums.

News 081210 Very
Friendly is a new project by Swedish sound/visual artist Ronnie Sundin
that has taken the shape of a comic book! The chapters in Very Friendly
will include autobiographical moments from Sundin himself, major and
minor historical events from the world of so called electronic and
experimental music. Some of these might stick to settled historical
facts other might sample and toggle a bit with the truth. On top of
that some bizarre puzzles and other incidents from Mr Sundin. Each
issue will also be accompanied with a 7" vinyl single that will present
the music of some of the musicians and noise makers that are portrayed
in the comics and the first one in line will be the 'legendary' noise
maniac from Norway; Lasse Marhaug serving up some finely sliced audio
memories from his days in Trondheim during the late '90s.
The
first issue will be available early 2009....(contents: Trondheim 1998,
Varese, Deserts, Kraftwerk, Fear Of A Black Planet, Throbbing Gristle,
Cryptic Club 1978, Lasse Marhaug)

In "Borgare och proletärer" ("Bourgeois and Proletarians"), the voices
of Agnes, Bruce, Vicki and others are reading the first chapter from
Marx's and Engels' "The Manifesto of the Communist Party". The readers
are commenting on the subject matter by letting the source material,
the swedish translation of the seminal text, clash with their
synthetically produced american accents.
